Boulevard was the most common booking platform we could identify in our 2026 check of 389 independent med spa websites in 21 US cities, used by 53 of those clinics. We went back to those 53 homepages and recorded how each one puts Boulevard in front of patients. Almost all of them use Boulevard's booking overlay. Almost none send a patient from a treatment page straight to that treatment.
How the 53 clinics connect Boulevard
Boulevard's main option is the Self-Booking Overlay, a booking panel that slides in over your own website, so the patient never leaves it. You paste Boulevard's snippet into the site once, then point any button at #book-now. Most clinics in the sample use it.
- 39 of 53 load the overlay on their homepage.
- 12 of 53 only link out to a Boulevard booking page.
- 1 embeds booking in the page, and on 1 Boulevard appears in the code with no visible way in.
- 32 of the 52 homepages we could reach use the #book-now link for their buttons.
Of the 26 clinics that link out to Boulevard, 22 open that link in a new browser tab. Boulevard's install guide for on-site buttons says to turn new-tab opening off, because the overlay is designed to open over your page.
What else the Boulevard sites have in common
- A Book link in the header or main menu on 38 of 53.
- A median of 4 Book or Schedule buttons on the homepage.
- A tap-to-call phone number on 42 of the 45 homepages where we could check.
- At least one broken homepage link on 12 of 53, and at least one failed check of any kind on 23 of 53.
- An average score of 88.2 out of 100, against 89.2 for the full 389-site sample.
The platform barely moves the score. The same broken links and leftover pages turn up on Boulevard sites as everywhere else. Eleven of the 53 passed every check we ran, and they are listed by city in the 2026 report.
Send each treatment page to that treatment
A patient reading your lip filler page who taps Book should land on lip filler, with no menu of every service to scroll through first. Boulevard supports this. In Manage Location, open a service or category, choose Sharing Options, and Boulevard generates code that opens the overlay on that item. On your own site it goes in the button's onclick, with the link itself set to #. The same screen has a Copy Link version for Instagram or email, which opens in a new tab.
Only 2 of the 52 homepages we could reach used it. One Book button opens a consultation, and one link opens a memberships category. If you rename a category in Boulevard, its links need updating, so keep a note of which button points where.
Tracking Boulevard bookings in Google Analytics
Boulevard sends booking events to GA4 itself, from Client Experience > Conversion Analytics. You enter your GA4 Measurement ID and a Measurement Protocol API secret, and Boulevard reports six steps of the booking flow, including checkout and the completed booking with its price. Boulevard's documentation lists three limits. It isn't available on the Essentials plan, it allows one GA4 property per business, and it doesn't work through Google Tag Manager. Meta Pixel works the same way, with a Pixel ID and a Conversions API token.
For US locations, Boulevard also offers Reserve with Google, which adds a Book Online button to your Google listing that opens the same overlay.
A Boulevard setup checklist
- The overlay code is on every page, so #book-now works site-wide.
- Buttons that open the overlay have new-tab opening turned off.
- Each treatment page's Book button opens that treatment, using Sharing Options.
- A Book link sits in the header and stays reachable on a phone.
- Conversion Analytics is connected to GA4, if your plan includes it.
- Every homepage link works. 12 of the 53 Boulevard sites had at least one that didn't.
Where to start
Run your homepage through the free website grader to see whether your booking link, tap-to-call and homepage links pass. If you'd rather hand the setup over, booking integration is included in every site we build, and existing sites get a fixed quote after a free audit.
