Aesthetic Record, the EMR built for aesthetic practices, was the third most common booking platform in our 2026 check of 389 independent med spa websites. We went back to the 30 clinics that use it and recorded how their homepages lead patients into Aesthetic Record's booking portal.
How the 30 clinics connect Aesthetic Record
Aesthetic Record's documented route is a link. You copy your booking URL from Appointments > Smart Configuration > Booking Portal > Domain Configuration and put it behind a Book button. There are per-clinic URLs and an All Clinics URL for practices with several locations. The portal lives at an address like yourpractice.myaestheticrecord.com/online-booking unless you set up a custom subdomain, which Aesthetic Record offers for $5 a month.
- 19 of 30 link to the portal.
- 10 of 30 load Aesthetic Record on the page in some form, through a frame or a script.
- On 1, it appears only in the page code.
Aesthetic Record notes that renaming the booking URL breaks links already in use, so settle the name early and leave it.
Use Verticals for treatment pages
Aesthetic Record doesn't document links to individual services, and none of the 28 clinics linking to it had one. The closest option is Verticals, which give a group of services its own booking URL. A clinic can send its injectables page to an injectables-only booking link and its laser page to a laser one, so patients see a short, relevant list instead of the full menu.
What else the Aesthetic Record sites have in common
- A Book link in the header or main menu on 24 of 30.
- A median of 4 Book or Schedule buttons on the homepage.
- Tap-to-call on 25 of the 29 homepages where we could check, the lowest share of the four platforms we measured.
- A broken homepage link on only 3 of 30, the lowest of the four, though 13 of 30 failed at least one check.
- An average score of 89.1, level with the 89.2 sample average.
Five of the 30 passed every check we ran. They are listed by city in the 2026 report.
Tracking Aesthetic Record bookings
Aesthetic Record connects to GA4 from Appointments > Smart Configuration. Its guide counts a booking when a patient reaches the portal's confirmation page, whose address ends in /online-booking/appointment/confirmation, and suggests UTM tags on your links so you can see which page or campaign sent the patient. The 2026 portal update changed these addresses, so check the current path in Aesthetic Record's help center before you build the conversion. If you run Google Ads, Aesthetic Record recommends the custom subdomain.
An Aesthetic Record setup checklist
- Book buttons use the current portal URL, copied from Domain Configuration.
- Treatment pages link to a matching Vertical rather than the full menu.
- Pages about one location use that clinic's URL, not the All Clinics one.
- GA4 is connected and the confirmation page counts as a conversion.
- Booking links carry UTM tags, so you can see which pages send bookings.
- Your phone number is tap-to-call. It wasn't on 4 of the 29 Aesthetic Record homepages we could check.
Where to start
Check your own homepage with the free website grader, which tests the booking link, tap-to-call and every homepage link. If you'd rather hand the setup over, booking integration is included in every site we build, and existing sites get a fixed quote after a free audit.
